{shopping in charlotte: interiors marketplace}

On our way home from our mountain trip a few weeks ago we drove through the beautiful city of Charlotte, N.C. Our main purpose for the visit was to see my husband's cousin and her darling boys. I just could not leave town without visiting some of the city's legendary antique shops. My first stop was to Interiors Marketplace, which offers a unique mix of one-of-a-kind home furnishings, accessories, and gifts. The store is filled with gorgeous antiques from an assortment of antique dealers and artisans. Nearly every interior style is represented in the large store. The merchandise is set up in little vignettes that allow you to envision how it all works together.

Lacquered Chinoiserie breakfront filled with a wide variety of antique accessories.

Lovely Simon Pearce lamps with Porthault candles.

The scalloped edge on these drapes is simply elegant.

Gorgeous pillows.

A beautiful selection of mirrors.

Shades, shades and more incredible shades.

The friendly staff !

If you get a chance to visit Charlotte, be sure to put this wonderful shop on your list. It is truly a design mecca!

Sarah! There is a chinoiserie breakfront that looks exactly like that- apparently it's a Drexel piece- at the Antique Mall on Wedgewood. I think it's $700! Lights in it and everything... didn't know if you knew anyone that would be interested in it.
Miss you! Time to come home. :)
