{iconic tolix chair}

As of late, I have been loving the Chaise A chairs by Tolix. Originally produced in the 1930's in France for outdoor bistro seating, they now have become a mainstream design element that can be used in just about any setting. While they are decidedly French, they are not the slightest bit fussy. These chairs play nicely in most any setting: modern or traditional, casual or formal. Made from galvanized steel they can be withstand quite a beating which is great if you have a family or want to leave them outdoors. Personally, I think they are most perfect when placed around a more traditional kitchen or dining room table. Anna Wintour, editor of American Vogue, elevated these chairs' status last year when it was revealed that the fashion queen rules her empire from a Tolix chair. You can purchase these chairs here, here and here.

Sarah, really love these. The silvery finish is great, I can see the others working as well!

I love these chairs. Three years ago I bought six at Sundance and have them around my kitchen table. What is not to love about them?

I adore these chairs as well! I just bought 8 of them in white (for around a table) for my back porch last summer, I can see them thru my kitchen all year round...and I can not tell you how happy they make me!

Gotta love the Tolix chairs. I've been toying with buying some to punch up my rather traditional eating area. I love the tiffany blue featured on Antiquaire!

I am seeing these chairs everywhere! What I love is their versatility. Simple lines, and a variety of colors = a great accent. And of course, I love anything vaguely chinoiserie!

Love them. Wanted them in red for the kitchen but Scott vetoed the idea.

One of my favorite chairs. Love it in just about every color though the steel and the white are my favorites. Can't go wrong with this! Marija
