It's no secret we have a mild obsession with books, and the newly released book Portrait of Camelot: A Thousand Days in the Kennedy White House, just shot to the top of our wish list. It has been 50 years since JFK was sworn into Presidency and the "Camelot era" was officially ushered in. Political Historian, Richard Reeves promises to deliver an new intimate look into the Kennedy family's 1000+ days in office with never seen before photos from White House Photographer, Cecil W. The Green Machine
Every February in Nashville, the Antiques and Garden show is a bright spot for our community. Betsy has taken on the challenge of co-chairing this big event with another one of our dear friends. The show is comprised of 150 antique and horticulture dealers from across the globe. In addition, the show has a history of hosting the top tastemakers in the design industry. Martha Stewart, Michael Smith, Bunny Williams and Colin Cowie have all made appearances...just to name a few. This year promises to be one of the best with Charlotte Moss kicking off our lecture series. We promise to keep you well informed regarding the details of the show....Stay Tuned!

Everyone is going to be busy in the kitchen this holiday season so here is a yummy recipe your whole family will love.
Pumpkin Squares
Ingredients
Bars4 eggs 1 2/3 cups granulated sugar 1 cup vegetable oil 15-ounce can pumpkin 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking sodaIcing 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
DirectionsPreheat the oven to 350 degrees F.Using an electric mixer at medium speed, combine the eggs, sugar, oil and pumpkin until light and fluffy. Stir together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and baking soda. Add the dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture and mix at low speed until thoroughly combined and the batter is smooth. Spread the batter into a greased 13 by 10-inch baking pan. Bake for 30 minutes. Let cool completely before frosting. Cut into bars.To make the icing: Combine the cream cheese and butter in a medium bowl with an electric mixer until smooth. Add the sugar and mix at low speed until combined. Stir in the vanilla and mix again. Spread on cooled pumpkin bars.YUM!!!!recipe and image courtesy of food network
